Warm Contemporary on the Intracoastal

This project involves taking a home with beautiful “bones” and making it modern and fresh. This waterfront residence, when purchased by the client, was very outdated. We gutted and reworked the layout of the kitchen being mindful of current kitchen trends (for instance, we removed any L shapes and concentrated on straight lines). We also used several innovative materials such as a solid sheet of back painted glass for the back splash and led lighting strips at the toe-kick of the cabinetry. The decorations are inspired by the client’s contemporary sensibility, and mid-century design. We redesigned the fireplace give it a very linear look. The original wood burning fireplace had a wall inside of it separating off a space for log storage. We open the whole space up and used a vent-less fuel burning system which produces a single row of flame and designed a new surround using a pure white compressed quartz, solid surface. We continue to work on the home slowly, doing a section at a time to ensure the homeowners are able to achieve all of their design goals.
